Being able to perform a roll in GTA 5 and GTA Online is a useful tactic to know. This means you character will do a forward roll when firing or aiming and then come back up ready to fire again.
This is particularly useful when caught in open ground in a firefight against NPCs or other players as it will help you dodge bullets and it’s something you often see in a PVP (player v player) fight or just in general mayhem around the map.
The controls to rolling are relatively simple, but just take a little practice given you need to be pressing two keys/buttons at once:
– On PlayStation: you need to be actively aiming (L2) and then press ‘Square’ to roll
– On Xbox: again when aiming (LT), press ‘X’ to roll
– On PC: again when aiming (right mouse button), press ‘Space’ to roll
