The new Old School Hits mission is the first featured Community Mission Creator developed in conjunction with GTA Series Videos. For fans of GTA games it’s rich with references to three classic games – GTA 3, GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas.
Watch the video above to see a walkthrough and all references.
The mission comprises of three sections all of which reference a different iconic GTA game.
- Part one GTA 3: this section where you take out the mob boss in front of a club references the Sayonara Salvatore mission from GTA 3 where you had to snipe him from a rooftop and usually missed your shot first time around and had to chase him around the streets of Liberty City. It’s much easier to take out the parody-named equivalent in this mission, but at least there’s two cars referenced from GTA 3 with Salvatore’s mob cars and the famous Banshee.
- Part two GTA Vice City: this mission sees you take to the golf course to take out your target and references the famous Four Iron mission from GTA Vice City where you find your way into the golf course and take out the target on the driving range. It was a famous mission as there were so many ways to complete it by finding a different route in, finding ways to keep your weapons or finding a better car than the golf buggy. When you’ve finished the kill, there’s a version of Lance Vance’s white Infernus to drive.
- Part three GTA San Andreas: this final section references the End of the Line finale in GTA San Andreas where you chase Officer Tenpenny’s Fire Truck through the streets of Los Santos. It even features the infamous Green Sabre seen when CJ’s Mom died.
While it’s not the hardest of missions, Old School Hits has plenty of nostalgia for fans of the GTA series of games and showcases how you might be able to work in your old favourites into your own mission with the Rockstar Mission Creator.
