There is a new random event as part of the Mansions DLC – Getaway Driver.

To get the random event to spawn you will need to be in any session type for at least 20 minutes, invite-only or public lobby.

It will still trigger if you are flying nearby in a helicopter, but you won’t be able to start it until you are in a vehicle that has a horn (e.g. Vigilante doesn’t as it’s ‘horn’ button triggers the boost). If you get the robber to get in your vehicle you can actually then get out and switch to a nearby helicopter if you’re quick enough which makes it very easy to escape the cops as no police heli will spawn.

The blue marker will appear when you are nearby at one of 15 possible spawn points that you can see in the video above.

When you are in a vehicle you are told to sound the horn to notify the robber that you are going to help him. If you run about on foot you won’t be able to see him.

When he enters your vehicle you will then have to lose the cops in the usual ways by going off-road or into tunnels or just staying out of the cops’ radar zones. Or just the helicopter trick mentioned above.

Once you have lost the cops a yellow line will appear on your map guiding you to the GPS location of the robber’s safehouse. Drop him off and he will give you a $25k reward.

Alternatively, you can waste him but you’ll only get $10k, albeit you’ll have some time.

If you both get taken out by the cops, then you can actually still go and collect his rucksack and have the $10k for your trouble…
