More great data from the Nielsen May survey of mobile consumers which shows that since the move to Verizon, Apple is leading growth in share among Smartphone platforms.
Android’s stellar growth has been remarkable over the past 12 months, but in the medium term at least Apple’s growth and RIM’s slow decline in share are the interesting stats to clean from the chart on the right.
This data only covers those who have bought a handset in the last three months, so is different to overall share of the handset market, where Android have 38% to Apple’s 21% and RIM’s (Blackberry) 21%.
It’s difficult to predict how this will play out over the course of the next year, with the much rumoured iPhone 5 due, along with numerous new Android devices and more to come from Nokia, Blackberry and other manufacturers.
