Apple’s addition of multitasking to the iOS software was long in the coming, but worth the wait.
Generally, it manages the memory well meaning you don’t need to close down apps running the background and can just get on with what you’re doing without having to think about memory issues.
However, sometimes if you have an older handset, a malfunctioning app you need to restart or many high memory apps running at the same time, you’ll need to close down some of your apps.
To do this you simply:
- Doubleclick the home button
- Hold down one of the apps that appear at the bottom, until they start shaking
- Press the red circle to close one or many
- Job done, back to your apps
