How Licence Plate Creator works in GTA Online

If you want to add a custom licence plate to your Personal Vehicle in GTA Online, there’s a new way to do it.

Rockstar retired the iFruit app a while back and there had been a clamour to restore the ability to manage your licence plate numbers.

While it would have been far easier to add this tool into the game to manage it via Los Santos Customs or your Car Workshop, at least it’s something.

This is how you create and manage your custom licence plates in GTA Online:

1. Go to the Rockstar website at https://www.rockstargames.com/gta-online/license-plates
2. Login with your Rockstar Social Club account (the same one you use to login to the Rockstar launcher to load the game in the first place).
3. You can add and manage up to 30 custom licence plates each with an up to 8 character limit on the text. Once you’ve maxed out your 30 you’ll need to delete one before adding another.
4. Select the vehicle you want to collect it with. The dropdown has a list of the most recent vehicles you’ve used in GTA Online. Note that once you’ve added the licence plate to that vehicle you can then add it to any other vehicle via Los Santos Customs or your Car Workshop.
5. Open up GTA Online and wait for the message from Los Santos Customs.
6. Call your Mechanic to request the specific vehicle from the dropdown or just get into it if you know where it is already.
7. Drive into Los Santos Customs or the Car Workshop in one of your owned Properties.
8. When you enter the vehicle modification menu the first option will be to collect the number plate via the ‘Process Order’ option.
9. That number plate can now be added onto any other vehicle or you can change it to any of the other custom number plates you’ve already collected.
