The Ruiner 2000 is one of the best vehicles in GTA Online, but to purchase it first you need to unlock it.
To do so you’ll need to register as a VIP or CEO using the Interaction Menu and selecting the SecuroServ menu, then VIP Jobs and then the Fully Loaded mission.
In Fully Loaded you have to destroy armoured vehicles against the clock using a temporary Ruiner 2000 which self-destructs at the end of the mission. Pass it and you can then purchase the Ruiner 2000 for real at Warstock.
Its looks are inspired by the legendary Knight Rider car, KITT 2000, as driven by Michael Hasselhoff in the TV series. Compared to some of the vehicles you can buy it’s looks innocuous enough meaning it’s often underestimated by less experienced players.
Yes, it’s not cheap – at the time of writing it costs $5,745,600 or $4,320,000 trade price from Warstock Cache & Carry. To get the trade price you need to complete the Ruiner 2000 Special Vehicle work which you can access via the computer in your Office.
Once you’ve bought it, you can get your mechanic to deliver the Ruiner 2000 right next to you in a few seconds again using the Interaction menu and then Vehicles. Or you can go to your Vehicle Warehouse (once you’ve bought one) and you’ll find it downstairs waiting for you.
It’s worth visiting your Vehicle Warehouse direct as you can then access the Vehicle Workshop to upgrade your Ruiner 2000 by adding the likes of armour, speed upgrades and of course auto-lock on missiles.
Now it’s a great vehicle against the infamous Oppressor MKIIs as not only will it withstand multiple hits from their rockets, but with the missile upgrade you can auto-lock on to fight back.
Bear in mind that you’re limited to 8 missiles per spawn until you go back to your Vehicle Warehouse or you summon a new one. You can use the Interaction menu to return your Personal Vehicle to storage and then call the Mechanic who will deliver a fresh one for you with another set of missiles to resume whichever battle you’re engaged in.
It also has the ability to perform a short jump and comes equipped with a parachute, both ideal for getting out of trouble quickly.
