How to get the orbital cannon in GTA Online

Buying orbital cannon GTA Online

The orbital cannon is the ultimate weapon in GTA Online, but it’s extremely expensive to obtain and use. However, if someone is consistently griefing you, then it’s sometime worth the expense to take them out from the safety of your underground Facility.

See our full walkthrough in the video above.

To obtain an orbital cannon, first of all you need to buy a Facility which has many uses in the game alongside the cannon itself for making some of the money back that you’re going to waste using the orbital cannon.

To buy a Facility go to the Maze Bank Foreclosures website on your phone and tap Facility at the top with the cheapest around $1.25 million. As part of the purchase you have the option to buy the orbital cannon for around $900k or if you want you can come back later using the same workflow and renovate your Facility to add it.

The Facilities themselves are huge, so it’s worth checking the best route to the orbital cannon icon that will appear on the map when you’re inside. Once inside the room tap to select and you have one of 3 options.

– Surveillance mode: this is slow and cumbersome to use but lets you explore the map and potentially pick a target if you have the patience for it
– Manual targeting: it’s a few hundred thousand cheaper at $500k per shot and harder to hit your target but you do at least get another go if you miss
– Automatic targeting: this costs a full $750k per shot (at the time of writing), so you’ll need money in the bank from a few profitable trips to the ever generous Cayo Perico. Simply select your target and then hold down the fire button for the three second countdown and you have your revenge on your chosen target

You get an in-game achievement the first time you use it.

Best of all, if someone is a modder and can’t be killed you don’t get charged if the person isn’t killed by the orbital cannon so you can keep firing and blasting them around the map for no money at all!
