How do I: switch on battery percentage

Battery percentageAlthough the iPhone 4’s battery life has improved things, one of the downsides of owning a power-hungry Smartphone, such as the iPhone, is battery life. Or the lack of it.

You’ll soon become accustomed to the stress of getting caught short when the low battery notification button appears.

Thankfully you can mitigate this by having a spare charger at work, in the car and defaulting to leaving your iPhone plugged in. While you can boost battery life by turning off the likes of wifi, notifications and location services and reducing screen brightness, these are all things that make the device so desirable in the first place.

To help you keep an eye on battery drain, you can set the battery percentage notification to appear next to your battery icon on the header.

To do this just:

  1. Open the ‘Settings’ app
  2. Click on ‘General’
  3. Then on ‘Usage’
  4. Then switch ‘Battery percentage’ from off to on as per the image in this article.
